Under the leadership of the Vakhushti Bagrationi Institute of Geography of Tbilisi State University a summer school was held on September 19-26, with participation of the Bachelor, Magistrate and Doctorate degree students of the Ivane Javakhisvili Tbilisi State University, Georgia; Department of Geography, Justus Liebig University, Giessen, Germany; Faculty of Geography and Geology, Yerevan State University, Armenia, and Institute of Geography named after Acad. H.A. Aliyev of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
The participants were awarded certificates. As part of the summer school, excursions were organized at the following destinations: Dmanisi Archaeological Museum, Chkhorotsku municipality (Mukhuri village), Mestia and Ushguli.
The participants took part in the climate change week in Chkhorotsku. Scientists of the Institute of Geography made presentations on this issue to the students and attendants at the Chkhorotsku Historical Museum.
The summer school was organized within the framework of the German Academic Exchange Program DAAD project: "GIS-Based Solutions for ENP in the South Caucasus".
